Really, my recycle bin is quite overwhelmed with boxes. Imagine yourself having the chance to find another use for those solid cardboard boxes other than disposing of them. It will require practically no effort to create the system of reuse and it will be quite fun.
First of all. You need to find a place where all of your boxes will be stored after they arrive. It can be a corner in your garage or an empty spot in your hall closet. And the main thing about it is to flatten them right away. One thing is done – no avalanche of cardboard boxes will suffocate your favorite lawn chair.
When it comes to shipping something, you should check your box storage and choose the appropriate one. It should be neither small nor spacious enough – there shouldn’t be much extra space in it as a box that is too big won’t protect your item from rattling. Use the newspapers that you had last time or air pillows from your previous delivery. Actually, the packing material you already have is more than enough.
There is one last thing to do. Packing tape is always your best friend – you should just cover the old shipping label with a new one. Draw an X on the old shipping label or put a tape on top of it – your postman will be grateful and the parcel will get to you safely.
Surely, there is one requirement to this system – you should flatten all of those boxes before storage. Or else, you may be sure that soon you will have a cardboard fort in your living room. Though I have never faced such a problem personally. 😅
Actually, it is quite exciting to observe the process of supplies growing thanks to your deliveries. It turns into a real game – not only do you reuse the boxes but outsmart the whole shipping industry!
