First, try to find the green plastic box which will be located on the wall of your garage. Find a small door and open it. Then find either the dial or the screen. If the latter is dirty, then clean it. The required setting is “Program A”. It is the first button you see.

Now, you need to set the current time. This step is extremely important as the machine should know what day it is. With the help of the plus and minus arrows, you need to synchronize your machine with the wall clock. Otherwise, your grass will be watered at 3 AM.

Next, you should choose watering days. For most of the lawns, it will be necessary to water it three times a week. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays will suit you fine. In this way, you will maintain moisture without creating the flood of petunias.

Now, it is time to set the starting time. In the early morning, when it is about 5:00 AM is good as there will be no evaporation of water. If you set noon as the starting time, you will waste your money. Let the sprinklers work while you are still sleeping.

Finally, you need to set the running time. Ten minutes will be enough for clay soils, while the sandy soil needs fifteen minutes. Then press the “Run” button and enjoy the result of your hard work.

This system will work automatically without requiring anything from you. After a week, you will be able to see whether it works properly. If you see that the grass is satisfied with the system, leave the settings as they are. Sometimes, the best way of maintenance is to do nothing at all.
